Tell us about what you’re doing with your life
I’ve always been entrepreneurial and now operate 2 ventures — more for passion and to help others than anything. A NAR Realtor with Signature Int'l, I help people find their dream condos and homes in warm, sunny Florida! I use my marketing and PR Skills to market homes for sale, and my “Cornell Skills” to match people with properties! Secondly, I own a string of online franchises, specializing in nutrition, weight loss, cosmetics and skincare, called www.shop.com/onlinemall. Personally, My Significant Other Rob, is a custom fine jewelry manufacturer SamsonJewelry.com and I revel in showcasing his beautiful creations!!
What was your favorite class at Cornell, or the one you found most useful?
Magazine Writing in Communication Arts major at CALS. It was interactive, fun, hands-on experience that produced a first-rate publication with our student articles. Worked for our portfolios moving forward in our careers!
What is your favorite memory of your time at Cornell?
I had priceless times with cherished friends at my Sigma Delta Tau sorority. I also loved being a newscaster in WVBR-AM/FM, and co-hosting “This Sunday” live, call-in talk show with HK!
Which Cornell classmates do you keep in touch with?
Dale Bornstein, Leslie Greenberg, Susan Klugman, Leora Halpern, Camille Lepre, Amy Moses
How has your time at Cornell influenced you since you graduated?
The pride I have in The Big Red is immense! I’m always quick to share my alumnae status and always can’t believe how impressed people are! The spirit and experience of Cornell is indescribable. You have to have been there!
Over the years, I have been a Cornell Ambassador interviewing high school students who have applied and I love sharing my enthusiasm and hopefully, influencing them not to miss out on the Cornell experience❣️
What extracurricular activity or hobby from your time at Cornell was most meaningful?
I tremendously loved being on campus, being in SDT sorority and performing as a newscaster on WVBR, but I had an incredible experience taking my first semester Senior year as a Cornell-in-Washington intern at Roll Call: The Newspaper of Capitol Hill, where I strolled the halls of Congress as a Reporter interviewing Senators and Members of Congress and writing articles for the paper. It was a surreal time, being in College yet acting as a full-fledged Capitol Hill reporter! I attended Ronald Reagan’s State of the Union address to Congress. Magical!
What random or surprising encounters with Cornell or Cornellians have you experienced since you left? Alternatively, who do you keep in touch with?
I am a member of PCCW (Presidents Council of Cornell Women). It gives me great pleasure to interact with highly successful women Cornell grads. I’ve attended a few of their conferences on campus, and met other local acclaimed PCCW members in Southeast Florida, such as Janet Reno (former US Attorney General), Laurie Jennings (top TV newscaster) and Mimi Whitfield (Miami Herald business editor).
If you could change anything about your Cornell experience, what would it be?
Living in Florida now, I wish it was geographically closer so I could visit the magnificent campus for longer stretches of time — and weather the cold better!!
What does being a Cornell alumnus mean to you?
Always believe in yourself, stay young and keep the Big Red Spirit alive!!
What are you most looking forward to at Reunion 2024?
Seeing ol’ friends and classmates, meeting new friends, enjoying our magnificent campus and Ithaca!
