Tell us about what you’re doing with your life
I am now the Commercial and Intellectual Property Paralegal at NASA, Headquarters (DC). I did use my degree (!) and was a graphic designer, then web architect when the Internet came about as well as worked in the field of web publishing. Went into semi-retirement when I had my daughters and learned about the world of patents and inventions from my late husband, who was a patent attorney.
Which Cornell classmates do you keep in touch with?
Eileen Joyce (Moroney), Beth Ayres (Butlien), Hillel Hoffmann (‘85), Adam Brumberg and Sarah Bowman Brumberg (85’ and 87’), Liz Billingsley (Magill), Alison Kieber (Brining). (I was also friendly with Lauren Krupa and Louisa Ardilla, both of whom have since passed away, post college graduation.)
What advice would you give to a student starting at Cornell this year?
RELISH EVERY SINGLE SECOND! You have such a magical opportunity to study, work with, play with, enjoy life with some of the most talented and amazing people in the Cornell Utopia for the next four years. It is such a small sliver of your life.
What extracurricular activity or hobby from your time at Cornell was the most meaningful?
Actually, my creative writing class (something I still do to this day, as a hobby) was very meaningful. I had a fantastic professor who was both encouraging and detail oriented with his commentary on a few of my stories. He liked my writing style; an editorial I sent to the Daily Sun was published and I remember feeling quite good it was published as it was received.
What are you most looking forward to at Reunion 2024?
Just cannot wait to reconnect with folks after a verrrrryyyyy long 2+ years of Covid, and hope everyone is doing well!
