Tell us about what you're doing with your life
I live in Darien, CT with my wife Kelly. We have twins, Devon and Riley who are 27 and Brendan who is 24. After working at Morgan Stanley in private equity for over 20 years, we spun our business out 18 years ago to form Metalmark Capital where I’m still a Partner today. I enjoy traveling, golfing, skiing and spending time with friends and family.
What was your favorite class at Cornell, or the one you found the most useful?
No doubt, Introduction to Wines. The course provided me with a basic understanding and appreciation of wines which I continue to work on!
What is your favorite memory of your time at Cornell?
I was in the Engineering College so time off from working problem sets and studying was precious. Top of the list would be my Phi Delta Theta fraternity party Medieval Mania.
Which Cornell classmates do you keep in touch with?
Amy (Brown) Fraser, Tim Cassidy, Jim Ferreira, Pat Downes
How has your time at Cornell influenced you since you graduated?
The Engineering curriculum was very difficult and at times daunting, but it provided me with a great foundation for tackling and solving problems throughout my private equity career.
