After graduation, I attended the SUNY State College of Optometry, where I received my professional license to practice Optometry. Currently, I work at a practice that believes in vision for all. Which is why for every pair of glasses or sunglasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need. I have a daughter, Merissa, who graduated Cum Laude from SUNY Oneonta, this past May. She is currently attending Graduate School at Hofstra University. She is studying to become a Mental Health Counselor.
What was your favorite class at Cornell, or the one you found most useful?
Freshman year I enrolled in an Introductory Course in Nutrition with professor Marge Devine, as part of my major in Nutritional Biochemistry. Senior year I came full circle, and served as a Teaching Assistant for the very same course. I try to incorporate my background in Nutrition Science in every day patient care. I also enjoyed Intro to Wines, with professor Vance Christian through the Hotel School.
What is your favorite memory of your time at Cornell?
I remember Cross Country Gourmet, in particular when the restaurant Bookbinders visited Cornell, as I ate Lobster for the very first time. Sunday Brunch at Noyes Center was also very memorable. Living at Mary Donlon Hall Freshman year, and hearing Primal Screams coming from the North Campus Hi Rise Dorms. Furthermore, the REO Speedwagon Concert at Barton was a blast.
How has your time at Cornell influenced you since you graduated?
At Cornell I enrolled in a Communications Course in Public Speaking. After graduation, I went on to take a Dale Carnegie class in Public Speaking. After completion of the course, I was offered a Teaching Assistant position at the Dale Carnegie Center for Excellence. While at Cornell, I met Brad Sklar 84, who served as the best man at my Wedding.
