Tell us about what you're doing with your life
I live in Scarsdale, New York where my husband and I raised our 2 children. We had met doing Triathlons when I was doing my residency at Weill Cornell. Although we no longer compete, we do jump into an occasional local road race and actually brought home fresh baked pies at the Harry Chapin Run for Hunger for our fundraising efforts this past fall!
What is your favorite memory of your time at Cornell?
I was a Varsity Cheerleader for 3 years and attended all the home basketball and football games. We had a great group and had some fun times especially road tripping to away games in the Cornell van which the University allowed us to drive to Boston and Philly! Another highlight was living in my sorority house, Pi Beta Phi, sophomore year. If I remember correctly, we had a pretty good intramural football team.
How has your time at Cornell influenced you since you graduated?
I arrived as a freshman having graduated from one of the smallest high schools in NYS. Initially very overwhelmed by Cornell's size and the intelligence of the students around me, I was able to find my path. This gave me life long confidence to take on any new challenges. More importantly, my Cornell experience was instrumental in giving me a love of learning.
What does being a Cornell alumnus mean to you?
Being a Cornell Alumnus means I share a bond with so many brilliant and passionate people all over the world. In my future travels, I hope to take my love of learning with me wherever I go.
What advice would you give to a student starting at Cornell?
There is so much to learn outside of the classroom! Yes you will get a first class education but if you make an effort to participate in the community at large by attending lectures of visiting speakers, joining clubs and meeting new people, it will really pay off. Also don't let anyone discourage you from your goals. Your grades are only one way that you will be assessed for whatever you want to accomplish after college.
What are you most looking forward to at Reunion 2024?
The Reunion Run is always a lot of fun so I hope there will be some of the Class of ‘84 getting up early to run on our beautiful campus. I also look forward to catching up with friends that I don't get to see often.
