Tell us about what you're doing with your life
I've been in the Pacific Northwest for the last 25 years since coming here for my fellowship in infectious diseases, and I'm currently section chief for my group. I live in the suburbs of Seattle with my two wonderful children, one of which is heading to college in the fall.
What was your favorite class at Cornell, or the one you found most useful?
I think my favorite class was my OR&IE 410 class. We had a group project where we had to come up with some type of business plan. We developed a business plan on putting a McDonald's in college town. I got in A. I'm still not sure why nobody ever followed up on that plan.
What is your favorite memory of your time at Cornell?
Time spent with my fraternity or the Big Red Band - so many road trips doing thing my parents told me not to do and things that I now tell my kids not to do.
Which Cornell classmates do you keep in touch with?
I occasionally see Jon Paley '87 and know I can call Duncan Perry '84 anytime I need him
How has your time at Cornell influenced you since you graduated?

What random or surprising encounters with Cornell or Cornellians have you experienced since you left?
My most recent, random Cornellian experience was when Dave Gutierrez graduated. Probably 20 years after me. It's fun to talk about being Cornellians. Our kids are both in the same drama group in high school.
If you could change anything about your Cornell experience, what would it be?
Oh, definitely would study a little harder. Four years of college at Cornell is an opportunity and one that I think when we're 18 we do not realize how important this opportunity is
What does being a Cornell alumnus mean to you?
It makes me part of a wonderful group of smart, dedicated, enthusiastic individuals, who really do generally have a positive influence on our communities
